Brahmastra sells 1.30 lakh tickets, records biggest advance for Hindi film at box office post pandemic

Barely days are left for the release of Brahmastra. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, the Ayan Mukerji directorial is the first part of a trilogy and is releasing on September 9. The film can be the turning point for an ailing entertainment industry that has seen back to back flops in recent months and as such advance bookings for Brahmastra could play a deciding factor in its future at ticket windows.
As per reports, the film has already recorded this year's highest advances for a Hindi film, beating Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, as well as that of 83, two days prior to release. The film has the highest advance bookings for a Hindi original, since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel took to Twitter to share the advance bookings of Brahmastra writing, "#Brahmastra has sold 1.35 lakh tickets for the opening day at national chain multiplexes.. Records biggest advance for a hindi film post pandemic.. Last 2 days advance booking is likely to shoot up and final number may land around ₹ 2-2.5 lakh tickets. All set for BIG OPENING !!"

Meanwhile, reports suggest thatthe Ayan Mukerji directorial is getting the widest release for a Hindi film.
The film recently commenced advance bookings and as per reports is already doing stellar business at the box office in pre-release sales. As per reports, the film has a huge momentum at the moment and even places like Jaipur, Patna and Indore are showing excellent response.
During Brahmastra promotions in Hyderabad, K Madhavan, the Country Manager and President Disney Star revealed, "Brahmastra is not an Indian film. It will be travelling across the world. We are going to release it in almost 8000 screens - 5000 in India and 3000 worldwide. I think it is happening for the first time."
Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy and a special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.
