Court Sends Zubair To 14-Day Custody | Alt-News Co-Founder Moves Top Court Alleging Death Threats

Mohammed Zubair is in Delhi's Tihar Jail and has at least two cases against him, one in Delhi over a tweet with a photo, and the other in Sitapur, for calling three Hindu right-wing leaders "hatemongers". Zubair was arrested on June 17 by Delhi Police in a case related to an "objectionable tweet" he had posted in 2018 against a Hindu deity. On Thursday Zubair moved the Supreme Court for pre-arrest bail and quashing of a hate speech FIR registered against him at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh. His lawyer has said that Zubair faces death threats and there is real concern about his safety. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the plea on Friday. After he was produced in Sitapur, the Delhi Police took Zubair back to Delhi. Watch the video to find out more! #MohammedZubair #SupremeCourt #TimesNow
