The National Commission for Women (NCW) took note of the 'condom' remarks made by Bihar's Women Development Corporation (WDC) Managing Director Harjot Kaur Bamhrah while responding to a student's question about sanitary pads on Thursday and demanded a written explanation from the bureaucrat within seven days. The commission stated, "NCW has taken attention of the statements of an IAS officer and the MD of WCDC Bihar publically insulting a schoolgirl who demanded sanitary napkins at an occasion." "She could have provided a direct answer and not lost her cool," says Anis Ansari, Retd IAS Officer.
