Anupam Kher's The Kashmir Files beats PK, Sanju and Tiger Zinda Hai to achieve THIS milestone at the box office

The Anupam Kher-starrer has managed to become the third all-time highest second Tuesday grosser in Bollywood. The film stars Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumaar in lead roles and looks at the exodus of the Kashmiri Pundits from the valley in the early 1990s.

The film, which passionately looks at the exodus of the Kashmiri Pundits from the valley in the early 1990s in stark and gory details has been well received by the audience, creating quite a record at the box office, which started off with just word-of-mouth publicity.
The film which had a modest opening, went on to witness exponential growth, reaching the Rs 100 crore club in Bollywood and now, on its second Tuesday running, The Kashmir Files, seemingly has managed yet another feat with Rs 10.25 crore in business.
Wondering what new record has this film achieved? Turns out, with Rs 10.25 crore at ticket windows, The Kashmir Files has managed to become the third all-time highest second Tuesday grosser in Bollywood. In doing so, the film has managed to overtake big-budget endeavours with massive stars, including Aamir Khan-starrer PK that collected Rs 9.11 crore and Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs 9.1 crore.
The film also managed to surpass the second Tuesday collections of one of the most profitable films during contemporary times by overtaking Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior's Rs 7.72 crore at the box office.

In fact, the film also surpassed Sanju's collection of Rs 7.90 crore and Tiger Zinda Hai's Rs 7.83 crore.
Earlier today, March 23, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted that the film continues to dominate theatres, writing, "#TheKashmirFiles continues to stand tall, runs triumphantly on weekdays... Trending strongly on weekdays... Will cross ₹ 200 cr tomorrow [Thu; Day 14]... [Week 2] Fri 19.15 cr, Sat 24.80 cr, Sun 26.20 cr, Mon 12.40 cr, Tue 10.25 cr. Total: ₹ 190.10 cr. #India biz."
Interestingly, The Kashmir Files has already surpassed the week two collections of post-pandemic releases like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sooryavanshi and 83. However, the film has not been without controversy, with polar opposite views being presented by different sections of the society. The Kashmir Files, which released on March 11 has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.
