Indian Idol 12's Arunita Kanjilal refused to do the music video with Pawandeep Rajan because of her parents' interference?

Indian Idol 12’s Arunita Kanjilal and Pawandeep Rajan earned immense popularity post the show. It was reported that the two are a couple but they have always maintained that they are really good friends. Pawandeep and Arunita’s duet songs have been loved by the audience. Post the show we saw them working together. They had also signed a music video series together with Raj Surani under the banner of Octopus Entertainment. Fans loved them in Manzoor Dil and were eager to see them doing more such amazing projects.

However, it was reported yesterday that Arunita has backed out from the 3 music video series. As per reports, Arunita Kanjilal does not want to feature in music videos but she will definitely lend her voice to the music series. The director of the videos, Raj Surani said that Arunita is not comfortable in acting now, although her commitment was to be part of the music videos of the series. The director mentioned that they did feel that Arunita should have informed them earlier. However, they have now replaced Arunita with another actress. Raj Surani shared that they respect Arunita and her parents' decision.

However, it seems Arunita’s parents made her take this decision. As per reports in ETimes, before signing the 3 music video contract, Arunita’s father made it clear to Raj on the day of the Indian Idol 12 finale that there should be no intimate scenes in the video. Raj then told Arunita's parents that they should rather be present on the set when he shoots his song.

Hence, a young girl who was hired by a guardian of Arunita, was sent with Arunita on the set of Raj's first music video. As per Etimes, Arunita has a guardian in Mumbai who has coordinated on most of the things connected to all her projects. Arunita then suddenly revealed she will not do the video even when she had recorded it. She had also done her rehearsals for the video. The decision of her quitting was conveyed to Raj Surani by some third person from her family. This was conveyed before the press conference that was held for the first one, which Arunita attended.

Raj tried to convince Arunita but she did not listen. Arunita had recorded all three songs and the director is still keeping her voice even when she refused to perform in the video. After a lot of convincing, Arunita told Raj that her family does not want her to do it.

Raj Surani spoke about it with the portal and said, “If Arunita didn't want to perform, why did she do shows abroad? It seems that it was the family's decision that she should not act in them. All said and done, I am definitely very disappointed.” He was also asked if Pawandeep was the reason that Arunita’s parents didn’t allow her. He said it was nothing as such and it was Arunita who didn’t want to do the video.
