Ludhiana: Man killed, family members injured for playing loud music

A man died, and his family members were injured after a scuffle broke out between his family and five others over loud music. The incident took place on Sunday in a slum dwelling under Dhandhari Bridge in Ludhiana. Among the injured is a pregnant woman. Pawan Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sahnewal police station said that Mehta and his family were celebrating the birth of his niece.

Ludhiana: A man died, and his family members were injured after a scuffle broke out between his family and five others over loud music. The incident took place on Sunday in a slum dwelling under Dhandhari Bridge in Ludhiana. Among the injured is a pregnant woman.
The deceased has been identified as Dinu Mehta (35), he was a daily wage labourer, a native of Madhya Pradesh. The injured were identified as Nagina (32), his wife, Lalu (60), his father-in-law, Sehdev, his brother-in-law and Raimoon, his mother-in-law, reported The Indian Express.
While the accused have been identified Mehat Lal, also a native of Madhya Pradesh and his four sons, Sipahi Lal, Sanjay, Rajan and Shyam Kumar. The accused managed to escape after committing the crime.
Pawan Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sahnewal police station said that Mehta and his family were celebrating the birth of his niece by playing loud music when Lal and his sons turned up at the former’s house. They asked him turn off the music, following which a quarrel ensued between the two and after that Lal and his sons assaulted Mehta and his family with sticks and bricks.
A complaint has been registered by Mehta’s family at Sanhewal police station. Mehta is survived by a pregnant wife and four children.
