Actor and comedian Mohan Juneja took his last breath on Saturday (May 7) morning. The KGF: Chapter 2 actor was suffering from a prolonged illness and failed to respond to the treatment. He passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru. He was 54-years-old. The actor was reportedly suffering from liver-related issues.
In a decade long career as a comedian, Mohan featured in over 100 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. Recently, he also appeared in the blockbuster hit KGF: Chapter 2. He also appeared in the first installation of KGF. He went on to feature in several tv serials, including Vitara, that made him a household name.
His fans remember him for his portrayal in the film, Chellata.
Actor Ganesh expressed grief over his death and tweeted, “Om Shanthi” along with his picture.
Mohan Juneja’s last rites will be performed today.
He hailed from Tumkar district in Karnataka and completed his education from Bengaluru. He later, settled down in the city.
Who was Mohan Juneja:
Mohan was a native of Turuvekere district in Karnataka. He was born in Bengaluru. His father was a civil engineer and hence, he did his schooling from multiple places. However, he was never interested in studies. He once said, “My father wanted me to become an engineer like him, but I was poor at studies.”
He always had his interests in movies and used to watch three films a day. Later, he joined drama school to understand the art and theatre.
He made his acting debut with Shankar Nag's Wall Poster. He was also associated with theatre and was comfortable in writing, make-up and acting. He once revealed, “I used to write dialogues at the night and act in the day. However, I continued to struggle to get an identity.”
He got his much-needed break with Nagathihalli Chandrashekar's TV serial Vaatara. “It ran for over 1000 episodes and my role of Parandhama finally gave me an identity.”
