Kiren Rijiju takes dig at Sanjay Raut, asks ‘what was Bal Thackeray’s opinion about Congress and Sonia Gandhi’

In 2010, Balasaheb Thackeray had said that after Mughal and British rule, now the country was ruled by an Italian. He had also called Congress a party of eunuchs. In November 2012, he had called Congress a disease saying Congress-led governments in the state and at the Centre should be overthrown.

New Delhi: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday asked Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut what was Balasaheb Thackeray’s opinion about Congress and Sonia Gandhi.
He gave this statement after Raut said that Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi trust Uddhav Thackeray.
“We got emotional yesterday when Uddhav Thackeray resigned as Chief Minister. Everyone has faith in Uddhav Thackeray; people of every caste and religion support him. Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar trust him,” he had said.
Please tell me who destroyed Balasaheb Thackeray’s party and his ideals, Rijiju asked.
The opinion of Shiv Sena patriarch on Congress and Sonia Gandhi is well known.
In 2010, he had said that after Mughal and British rule, now the country was ruled by an Italian. He also called Congress a party of eunuchs.
In November 2012, he had called Congress a disease saying Congress-led governments in the state and at the Centre should be overthrown.
Earlier today, Raut told ANI that Shiv Sena is not born for power but power is born for Shiv Sena.
This has always been Balasaheb Thackeray’s mantra and we will work and come to power on our own once again, he added.
On Wednesday night, after Uddhav tendered his resignation, Raut had said that Maharashtra has lost a sensible and cultured chief minister who has stepped down gracefully.
I am not interested in playing the numbers game, said Thackeray on Wednesday night and resigned as the chief minister.
“The end of traitors is never good and history can prove this. Now, it is the beginning of a massive win for Shiv Sena. We will face the baton, go to jail but will keep alive Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena,” he said.
Raut also said he was grateful to NCP chief Sharad Pawar for persuading Uddhav, son of Bal Thackeray, to take charge as the CM in 2019.
Meanwhile, reacting to Uddhav’s resignation, Maharashtra Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said that the Shiv Sena chief should have faced a trust vote but he gave his farewell speech at the end of the Cabinet meeting itself.
Uddhav Thackeray is a sensitive person with simple nature and he did not like a few things, so he resigned, Thorat said.
