Mahindra&Mahindra has been creating quite a storm in the EV market. It’s new generation of ‘Born Electric Vision’ SUVs that are scheduled to premiere on August 15 has garnered quite the excitement among enthusiasts. However, the Indian marque doesn’t want to limit themselves to the passenger segment only.
Recently, it released teaser video on its YouTube channel that announced the arrival of an electric pick-up truck. The design represented in the video indicated the outline of the Bolero, which is the only pick-up in their stable. Thus, confirming that it will also get an EV powertrain.
Not much information has been divulged as of yet about the upcoming electric pick-up truck, except for the tagline ‘Future of Pick-Ups’. When launched, the Bolero pick-up will be the second electric commercial vehicle after the Treo Electric 3-wheelers.
Given how Mahindra has designed their electric cars before, we expect the exterior of the upcoming Bolero electric pick-up truck to be adorned with several blue accents. It’s loading capacity should be slightly lesser than its diesel-counterpart. Speaking of which, since Mahindra has not divulged anything about a different chassis for its commercial electric pick-up vehicles, we expect it to equip the same Cabin Chassis (CBC) that also underpins ICE-Mahindra Bolero Pik-up.
As for its range, we can’t say much for sure. But given how commercial electric vehicles are primarily developed for transportation within citiies, the Bolero electric pick-up should have the same as well. For more informations, stay tuned.
