Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan are headlining the Hindi remake of R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi’s iconic Tamil film Vikram Vedha. Ever since the teaser of the Bollywood version was released, there have been comparisons between the two films and their lead actors.
At a recent press conference of Vikram Vedha, Saif was quizzed about his take on being compared with Madhavan. Mentioning that every actor brings something different to the table, he said he hopes to give an interesting spin to the character.
“Somebody told me something once. We are called stars, and there is a whole galaxy of them. And the reason there are so many is that everyone is different. So, I hope I am able to bring an interesting take on it,” the Hum Tum actor was quoted as saying.
Earlier, Madhavan had expressed his excitement for the Hindi version of Vikram Vedha as he said that he is looking forward to watching Saif in the film.
Meanwhile, when Hrithik was asked about filling the big shoes of Vijay’s Vedha in the action-drama, he said, “I know how amazingly Vijay Sethupathi did the same part. I can’t in my dreams think that I would achieve that level. Yet, I have done my best and I am happy with what I have done.”
“When you approach a character, you can’t just repeat what has been done. If you think ‘he did that so I will also do it’, that’s not a very intelligent way to go about it. The simplest way to go about it is to know that every individual is different,” the Krrish actor added.
Also featuring Radhika Apte and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles, Vikram Vedha is directed by Pushkar-Gayathri, who helmed the original as well. The film opens in theatres on September 30.
