Why Retailers Are Betting Big on 'Black Friday' Sales | India Development Debate

It's Thanksgiving in the US today, and that means eager shoppers are waiting for Black Friday tomorrow. Black Friday is the day after thanksgiving when people start shopping to accumulate gifts for Christmas in the US. Tamanna Inamdar discusses how retailers plan to boost sales, if the sales are actually offering true discounts or whether they are raising the mark-up price to misguide consumers and if the trend is here to stay. Devangi Parekh of Aza fashions, Akshay D'Souza of BIZOM, Pushpa Bector of DLF Retail and Kaushik Mukherjee of SUGAR cosmetics join her to give their take on what the sale means for retailers as well as consumers.
