KEY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ravi Shastri posted a picture with Nasser Hussain on Monday.
  • The former Indian head coach had earlier cropped Nasser out of one of his Twitter posts.
  • Nasser and Shastri are both part of the commentary team.
A day after former England skipper Nasser Hussain poked fun at former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri for cropping him out of the picture he posted from his Twitter handle, the 60-year-old Shastri shared a picture on the micro-blogging site with the 54-year-old English cricket legend and now a cricket expert and commentator.
On Saturday night (Sunday IST), after the end of the second day’s play of the Edgbaston Test between India and England, Shastri had posted a picture of the entire commentary team on his Twitter handle. But he cropped out Hussain and, referring to that on Sunday (July 3), the former batting legend poked fun at Shastri.
When Ravi’s picture was pointed out by the fellow commentators, Hussain on Sunday claimed that, 'I have been cropped out of Ravi Shastri's life'. The ex-England captain also pointed out that the former Indian head coach had tagged everyone else except him. Another former English captain, Kevin Pietersen, who was in the commentary box, burst into laughter on hearing Hussain's complaints.
But on Monday, shortly after the start of the fourth day’s play, Shastri posted a picture with Nasser and wrote that it was an appreciation post. He captioned, "This is a @nassercricket appreciation tweet. Still grumpy just about to smile. Trickster at the back @KP24 @SkySports #EngvsInd."
On the second day of the ongoing one-off Test, the duo spoke about their famous feud during India's tour of England in 2011. At the time, both were in the commentary box and had a massive clash over the Decision Review System (DRS) and India's stance on it. Shastri was not pleased with the local reporting on India's use of the system and their refusal to use it completely.
Talking about the Test match, India are on the driving seat and has extended its lead past the 320 run-run mark and has lost six wickets in the second innings.
