Rohit explained that his food was estimated to be delivered in around 30 minutes but when it did not arrive, he decided to call the delivery guy. The delivery guy told him in a very "comforting" tone, "I will be there in some time, sir."
When the food didn't arrive even after a few more minutes, he called up the delivery agent again and said, "Bhaiya please jaldi Karo naa, bhookh lg rhi hai."
"He again responded with a very comforting tone & telling me just 5 minutes more," Rohit said.
"In around next 5-10 minutes, the bell rang and the impatient me went quickly to open the door & maybe express my disappointment with the delay in the delivery," he wrote.
When Rohit opened the door, he found Krishnappa smiling at him "graciously" with the order in his hand.
"Mid 40's, grey hair, trying to balance himself with crutches & smiling at me, I was numb for a second & feeling stupid to get impatient sitting on my comfortable bed. In my head, I was wondering what all struggle he had to go through to get this order to me. I immediately apologized to him and tried to have a conversation," Rohit said.
Krishnappa told him that he lost his job at a cafe due to the pandemic and had to take up the work of delivering food. He could not bring his children to Bangalore to get better education facilities for them.
After having talked for two to three minutes, Krishnappa told Rohit, "Sir I am getting late for my next delivery," and left.
