Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis says portfolios can be exchanged with Shinde camp later, rules out any dispute

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday ruled out any dispute over the portfolio distribution and said that some portfolios can be exchanged, if required, ahead of the next cabinet expansion.
Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde allocated portfolios in the 20-member state Cabinet.
Allocating the portfolios, CM Shinde kept Urban Development and 11 other ministries with himself while giving the crucial Home department to his deputy Fadnavis. The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader will also handle Finance and Planning, another key department, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Asked about CM Shinde and Fadnavis holding several portfolios among themselves, the deputy CM said, “There is no dispute between the BJP and CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena over the portfolio distribution. If required, we can exchange some portfolios ahead of the next cabinet expansion.”
The portfolio distribution comes five days after the induction of 18 ministers into the state cabinet - nine each from his rebel Shiv Sena group and the BJP.
