Guwahati: At least eight labourers were injured after an under-construction roof collapsed at Bongaigaon railway station in Assam on Tuesday. Out of the total injured, three persons are in serious condition.
The injured in critical condition have been moved to a private hospital for treatment.
While speaking to media, Bongaigaon SP Swapnaneel Deka said, "Eight labourers got injured after an under-construction roof collapsed at Bongaigaon railway station yesterday ."
"Of the 8 injured, three are in serious condition and have been admitted to a private hospital," he added.
Earlier in the day, four workers were killed while another injured in a tragic accident while fixing a tower crane to the 17th floor at the construction site located in Sector-77 of Gurugram.
The incident took place at around 5 pm at an under-construction site of Emaar Plam Hills in Sector-77 where a residential project is coming up.
Of the five victims, four died on the spot while one was hospitalised in a critical condition. All the victims were natives of Bihar, the police said.
The bodies of the victims were placed in the civil hospital. According to the police, the contract of the project was given to a JJRS contractor.
