  • Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah are back into the squad from injury.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also been selected for the tournament.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. The biggest news coming out of the squad was the fact that India would return with a full fledged pace attack with Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah back in the fold after missing the Asia Cup 2022 due to injury. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh are the other two fast bowlers in addition to Hardik Pandya as the fifth pacer.
Former India pacer Irfan Pathan said that the presence of Bumrah, Arshdeep and Harshal will solve the death bowling problem that cost India two matches in the Asia Cup.
"Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel, these three will solve your problem of bowling 5 overs at the death. It is quite understandable that once you return from an injury, you take some time but you will get the game time as you are playing against Australia and South Africa before the World Cup," the former left-arm seamer said in an interaction with Star Sports.
Pathan also shared that Bhuvneshwar Kumar should be used upfront and not at the death overs.
"You will get that quality time, India's problem of bowling at the death has been relatively solved with the addition of these three. You can bowl Chahal for one over at the death, you can use Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well but I would want him to bowl more with the new ball," he added.
