Ever since the release of the teaser of Om Raut's Adipurush, the film has been facing a lot of flak due to poor VFX and misrepresentation. The Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer is high on VFX but fans are irked with the quality of CGI used in the film.
The film has also faced accusations of misrepresentations. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra warned the makers of 'Adipurush' of legal action if scenes showing Hindu religious figures in the 'wrong' way were not removed. While actress and politician Malavika Avinash slammed the makers for ‘misrepresentation’ of Ramayan. Ramayan actress Dipika Chikhlia too has spoken up on the issue and shared her reservations on VFX and misrepresentations.
Incidentally, a year back, Om Raut was asked about the fact if he had any fear of misrepresentation of criticism from historians. The director had then replied, “I enjoy doing the right research and keeping my head and heart in the right place and looking at a particular historical event or a personality in the right spirit.”

He had further added, “I feel that when you have your heart in the right space and your intentions are right, you want to keep the sanctity of the historical events intact, and you look at everything with a pure mind, then you shouldn't worry much about anything going wrong. What I would like to think about is how rightly do I work and how pure I keep my work place."
Meanwhile, Malavika Avinash spoke out against the film, specifically hitting out at the way Saif Ali Khan's character Raavan is depicted in the movie. She stated,“The Raavan in the photograph that I see floating around is a guy who looks nothing Indian, who has blue eye makeup and is wearing leather jackets. This is our history they are representing; they cannot do it in the guise of creative liberty. Ramayana is who we were, it represents this nation, its civilisation and its people. So no one can take it for granted, let alone a film director. I am angry and I am saddened by this misrepresentation".
