Amid the promotions of MikaDi Vohti, singer Mika Singh mourned the untimely demise of KK. In an exclusive interaction with Zoom TV Digital, the singer recalled how they entered the music industry together.

Indian singer Mika Singh, who shared a close bond with celebrated singer KK, has mourned the latter's unfortunate demise. KK passed away on May 31, 2022. He was 53. The news of his untimely demise sent a shockwave across the nation, with many taking to social media to mourn the loss.
Mika described KK's passing away as a "big loss", recalling how they had entered the music industry together.
"We both entered the industry in 1998. That was the year my song Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag released. We shared a great bond since then. And in 1999, suddenly bahut peeche chhod gaya tha KK mujhe when his song Tadap released and became a big hit," he told Zoom TV Digital in an exclusive interview on the sets of Star Bharat's reality show, Swayamvar - Mika Di Vohti.
The singer added that everyone's learned a great deal from him. "His simplicity. Kabhi social media pe nazar nahi aate the, kabhi reality show mei nazar nahi aate the, aur shayad duniya ko aaj pata chala hai ye bhi gaana KK ka hai," he said.
Mika also credited KK to have started a trend of the kind of songs that are now sung so well by Atif Aslam, Arijit Singh and Darshan Rawal.
KK was the voice behind several memorable songs such as Sach Keh Raha Hai Deewana Dil, Aankhon Mein Teri, Zara Sa, Pal and Yaaron among others. Hours before his death, KK had performed at a college event in Kolkata. He had taken ill after the live concert and had reportedly collapsed in his hotel room.
