Bajaj Auto sales up 48% in August thanks to higher demand of Platina, Pulsar, Dominar bikes

Bajaj Auto announced on Thursday that the company has managed to sell 2,33,838 units of two-wheelers in the domestic market in August. The overall company sales has been upped by 48% as previously the company has sold only 1,57,971 units in the corresponding period a year ago. The higher demand of bikes such as Bajaj Pulsar, Dominar and Platina has enabled the company to record higher sales in August.

While the domestic two-wheeler sales has gone up, the exports have fallen flat on the face. The company exported 1,21,787 units of two-wheelers to the foreign market which is down 32% in comparison to 1,80,339 units exported in the corresponding period a year ago. The overall domestic and export sales has gone by 5% at 3,55,625 units last month against 3,38,310 units sold in the corresponding period a year ago.

In terms of Year-to-Date (Apr-Aug) sales, the overall figures stand at 15,17,837 units which is 3% down from 15,68,184 units sold on the same period of 2021.

The company's commercial vehicle sales, Bajaj registered 45,970 units sales in both export as well as domestic markets which is up 31% against 34,960 units sold in August'21.

Meanwhile, the company has recently announced the launch of the new CT125X in the Indian market. At Rs 71,354 (ex-showroom), the new bike has been positioned as the one of the most affordable 125 cc segment bikes in the country. It has been positioned above the CT 110X and has been made available in three dual colour options - Ebony Black with Green decal, Ebony Black with Blue decals and Ebony Black with Red decals. It is offered in two variants - Standard and Disk brake.
