Cancer warrior Sonali Bendre reveals doctors told her she had ‘30 per cent chance’ of survival

Sonali Bendre shared the news of her cancer diagnosis in a social media post. Well, after beating that deadly disease, the actress has been supporting and encouraging women to get themselves tested for breast cancer and during a conversation with a publication, Sonali revealed that after her revelation, testing rates for the disease went up.

Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with cancer back in 2018 and she underwent treatment for the same in the USA. After undergoing treatment, the actress finally beat the disease and came out victorious. Sonali is now absolutely healthy and was last seen judging the dance reality show Dance India Dance Li’l Masters.

Well, after beating that deadly disease, the actress has been supporting and encouraging women to get themselves tested for breast cancer and during a conversation with a publication, Sonali revealed that after her revelation, testing rates for the disease went up.
Sonali also talked about how the doctors said that she had “30 per cent chance of survival”. Sonali Bendre told Bollywood Bubble during a conversation, “Doctors told me that I had stage 4 cancer and my chance of survival is 30% percent.” She added, “At one point, Goldie (Behl) sent me a photo of a newspaper's headline stating that after my news came out and after I started speaking about it, the testing went up and many people went up to get tested.”
She also said that she feels it was important for her to make that conversation and continued, “Today everyone is talking so casually about it. Four years back, it wasn't like that. So today I accept it was important and glad that I could make that conversation.”
Sonali shared a post on her Instagram on her cancer diagnosis and penned down a long heartfelt note. She wrote, “Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis.” She continued, “I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me.”
