Almost all of the major central universities in the National Capital have opened up the admission process for Undergraduate courses. The admission process has changed this year in line with the implementation of the Common University Entrance Test, CUET.
The Universities in Delhi had different eligibility for providing admission to UG courses. The Delhi University earlier admitted students on the basis of marks scored in class 12th, Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University used to have separate entrance tests for admissions to UG courses. These admission criteria have been partially or fully scraped with the implementation of CUET from the academic session 2022-23.
Here’s how admission process is panning out at Delhi University
At Delhi University, admissions are being done in 79 UG programmes across 67 colleges, departments, and centres of the varsity. The admission is being done through Common Seat Allocation System, CSAS 2022. The admission process commenced on September 12 and is being conducted in three phases. The first phase is where candidates had to apply, second phase is preference filling and third phase is seat allotment-cum-admission. First and second phases started on September 12 and September 26 respectively. Both phases are open till October 10, 2022.
The programme-specific merit score will be auto-calculated by university as per the eligibility criteria and candidates will have to confirm their scores before making the preferences. Delhi University will release a simulated list of tentative allocations based on the CSAS-2022 allocation policy soon. Delhi University may announce multiple allocation rounds on the basis of availability of the seats that arise due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals.
