Ajmer: Police here on Saturday arrested two people for running a fake company claiming to provide jobs to people. One of the arrested is a woman. However, police said that the main mastermind behind this fake job racket managed to escape and is on the run.
According to the police the company known as "Job Attempt" was charging candidates in the guise of providing them with training like personality development, dressing up properly etc. They also promised the candidates that they would help them get jobs in private companies and banks etc.
The Kotwali Police station received a complaint from one Sameer Ahmed (23) a resident of Kota, who told the police that he is an ITI trained electrician and was looking for a job. He further said that three months ago he got a call from a company telling him that they were in the business of helping people get jobs in banks and private companies and would also help him with the same, Times of India reported.
He said that the company asked him to fill up an online form and charged him Rs 1,850 for dress code and asked him to attend a training at Jhotwara in Jaipur.
When Ahmed reached Jaipur, he met the company head who identified himself as Abdul Yusuf Khan who charged him another Rs 500, for police verification and then directed him to attend a 15-day training programme at the company office in Kalabagh in Ajmer, with the promise that he would help him get a job at a solar plant in Kota.
Once the complainant reached Ajmer he met one Haider Ali who charged him Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 500 for the training.
Thereafter the complainant waited for 20 days but did not receive any appointment letter. He therefore contacted Haider Ali to inquire, but the latter instead demanded an additional Rs. 2,550 for the dress code and another Rs. 5,100. But even after this Ahmed did not get any appointment letter. Therefore, he decided to lodge a complaint with the police.
After receiving the complaint SP Ajmer Chuna Ram Jat constituted a team to investigate. The police team found that the company had duped several youths on the promise of getting them jobs across Rajasthan, UP and Gujarat.
Police then arrested Haider Ali (24) a resident of Jetaran and Shaheen (22) a resident of Jaipur. However, the main accused Abdul Yusuf Khan managed to evade arrest and is on the run.
The two were produced in court on Tuesday and Haider's remand for further questioning.
