Vijay Deverakonda got embroiled in controversy when he said “kaun rokenge dekh lenge (who will stop, we will see)” while promoting his movie Liger amid boycott Bollywood trend. This comment did not go well with the executive director of Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir Cinema Manoj Desai, who called Vijay “arrogant”. Now, recently, Vijay met Manoj Desai who expressed his regret over his latest "arrogant" comment on the Dear Comrade actor.

A picture has been shared online where Vijay Deverakonda could be spotted posing with Manoj Desai. Sharing the photo on their official Twitter account, Andhra Box Office wrote, “#VijayDeverakonda met Mumbai Exhibitor #ManojDesai and expressed regret about his recent comments about the Boycott/OTT Issues (which are allegedly taken out of context). He will be promoting Liger in Dubai tomorrow at #AsiaCup.”

In a video where Vijay could be spotted having a conversation with the theatre owner, Manoj Desai could be spotted saying, "I am sorry for what I said." He continued, "That was a misunderstanding. Maine pura dekha nahi tha, jab pura dekhne ke baad mujhe pata chala, ki main OTT ki wajah se mere bacche pe bohot garam ho gaya tha. Mujhe nahi hona chahiye tha, I am sorry for that. (I did not see the entire thing, and when I saw it, I realised because of OTT, I got very angry at my child. I should not have. I am sorry for that.)".

Vijay Deverakonda was also spotted taking blessings of Manoj Desai in the video.

Earlier today, the Geetha Govindam actor was also spotted promoting his movie Liger during the much-awaited India vs Pakistan match's pre-show in Dubai. In the video and pictures shared by fans on social media, which are now going viral, the Arjun Reddy actor could be spotted donning a light beige-coloured traditional outfit teamed up with a pair of sunglasses and footwear. The crowd was also seen cheering for the actor.

Talking about Liger, this film marks the Bollywood debut of the Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda. Helmed by Puri Jagannadh, this movie also features Ananya Panday in the female lead and Baahubali actress Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy playing pivotal roles. Bankrolled under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ this film hit the theatres on August 25, 2022, and has been receiving mixed reviews from both the critics and audience.

Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the first day box office collection of Liger on his Twitter and wrote, “#Liger opens to mixed response on Day 1... Good/ fair in mass pockets, dull/ordinary at metros/multiplexes... Needs to improve its performance on Sat and Sun... Thu [preview shows] 1.25 cr, Fri ₹ 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr. #India biz. Speaking about his upcoming projects, Vijay Deverakonda will be next seen featuring in Kushi opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu and in Puri Jagannadh’s Jana Gana Mana.
