Ranbir Kapoor's comeback venture with Yash Raj Film's Shamshera seems to have met a dismal fate at the box office. Trade reports suggest that the film could not cross the Rs 3 crore make on Day 4. The film is expected to do a lifetime collection of around Rs 45 crore.

Ranbir Kapoor's comeback venture with Yash Raj Film's Shamshera seems to have met a dismal fate at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor starrer which has Sanjay Dutt essay the main antagonist Darogah Shuddh Singh, opened with huge expectations, boasting of a stellar cast, but failed to translate on the big screen.
Shamshera had a disappointing first weekend with collections in the Rs 31 crore nett range and did not see much trajectory. As per reports, the film saw around 20 percent growth in mass pockets of UP, CPCI, Rajasthan and Bihar.

Notably, Shamshera earned Rs 10.25 crore on its opening day. Day 2 saw the film collect Rs 10.50 crore, while it made Rs 11 crore on Day 3. Trade reports suggest that the film could not cross the Rs 3 crore make on Day 4. The film is expected to do a lifetime collection of around Rs 45 crore.

The film did about Rs 9.98 crore business overseas over the weekend. While UAE raked ib $450K, North America earned makers $397K, while Europe saw $115K in business. Other parts of the world saw a cumulative business of $288K.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the film's business, writing, "#Shamshera meets with a tragic fate... Shockingly low weekend biz... Will face rough weather on weekdays... Also, arrival of new films will hit biz hard... Fri 10.25 cr, Sat 10.50 cr, Sun 11 cr. Total: ₹ 31.75 cr. #India biz."
Meanwhile, Ranbir recently expressed his desire to one day direct a film and even hinted that his wife, actor-producer Alia Bhatt, can produce it. Subsequently, Alia responded to it, saying she’d be very upset if Ranbir does not let her produce the film he plans to direct as they have discussed it.
