A wild trail camera in the US has captured one of the most elusive animals on our planet.
The Kermode bear, sometimes called the spirit bear, is a subspecies of the American black bear. They are basically a species of black bear with white fur.
As per experts, it's nearly impossible to spot a white spirit bear in the wild. But recently, one was seen rummaging through a bait in the wilderness that had been placed by a hunter.
The animal was spotted in the western Upper Peninsula, a region of The Great Lake State.
Even though officials with the Department of Natural Resources haven’t confirmed whether the animal actually has white fur, the photos shared on Facebook by an Upper Peninsula trekking guide almost confirm it was actually a spirit bear.

Spirit bears are not polar bears or albinos. They are black bears with white fur due to a one-in-a-million chance where both the bear's parents bred and produced a recessive gene for white fur, according to experts
That's precisely the reason why it is an extremely rare feat to spot a colourless bear.
Spirit bears live in the Central and North Coast regions of British Columbia, Canada. t is the official provincial mammal of British Columbia and symbol of Terrace, British Columbia.“
It’s just exciting seeing an animal pop up like this here instead of somewhere else. We’ve had some cinnamon color phases show up, some blonde and chocolate on some trail cameras we use for surveys which is also really cool to see," said Cody Norton, a carnivore specialist with the local Department of Natural Resources.
He said the bear captured on camera is about 2 years old.
