WhatsApp is working on several new updates. The Meta-owned app is releasing an undo feature to recover messages "deleted for you" by mistake to some beta users, reported WABetaIndo. The new update was rolled out through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.18.13.
WABetaInfo, the website that tracks the latest WhatsApp updates, also shared a screenshot of the "undo delete message" feature. This update will allow users to restore a deleted message by clicking on "undo" if he/she deletes it by clicking on the option "delete for me" instead of "delete for everyone".
Notably, users have only a few seconds to restore the deleted messages. "A snackbar shows up when an attempt to delete a message for you is detected: in this case, you have a few seconds to recover the message if you previously wanted to delete it for everyone," the website wrote.
The feature has been released only to some lucky beta users. In the coming few weeks, more activations are expected. For getting the feature, users need to install the latest version of the instant messaging app. Notably, If the snackbar doesn’t show up when a user opts "delete for me” even after installing the latest beta version, it means his/her WhatsApp account is still not eligible to get the feature.
WhatsApp is also developing the ability to customise an avatar for using it as a profile photo. The "avatar profile photo" feature is in the under-development stages and its release date is not yet known.
