Ambala: A man's body was recovered from an open sewer in Ambala district with the arms and feet tied. The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Rohtash who had been missing for three days.
However, the deceased man's sister lodged a complaint with the police alleging that his wife, Kamlesh, was the one who had murdered him. She elaborated that her brother and sister-in-law had a fight three days ago and when she had gone there the day before, the entire house was full of a foul odour.
According to a report in Bhaskar, the deceased's sister, Bhuri, noticed that the toilet was locked and on enquiring about the stench, her sister-in-law said that there was a dead mouse somewhere in the house. Bhuri alleged that soon after the suspicion was raised, her sister-in-law threw the body in the open sewer near their house.
Rohtash was a daily wager in Ambala and resided in Sector 34 HSVP, Ghasitpur. He had been missing since Sunday and his family members were trying to find him but they had not lodged a formal complaint to the police yet.
Based on the statement of the deceased's sister, a case has been registered against his wife and an investigation has been initiated. Cops are hopeful of solving the murder case soon. Locals in the area gathered in large numbers when the body was being extracted from the sewer and they too claimed that there was an extremely foul smell emanating from the house of the deceased.
