S Jaishankar to begin seven-day visit to New Zealand, Australia from today [details]

During his visit to New Zealand and Australia from October 05-11, S Jaishankar will review bilateral relations with both countries.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will travel to New Zealand and Australia for a week beginning Wednesday.
During separate discussions with both New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta and Australia Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Jaishankar will review bilateral relations with both countries.
On Thursday, Jaishankar will join New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in felicitating members of the Indian community for their exceptional achievements and contributions. This will be his first visit to New Zealand as a minister.
"Both leaders will release India@75 postage stamps to commemorate and showcase Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in New Zealand," said an External Affairs Ministry statement.
He will also launch a book entitled 'Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery'.
On the occasion, 'Heartfelt - The Legacy of Faith', a book highlighting the special bond Prime Minister Narendra Modi has with the Sikh community, will also be released.
Additionally, Jaishankar will interact with several other New Zealand ministers, including Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector, Diversity, Inclusion and Ethnic Communities, and Youth Priyanca Radhakrishnan.
In New Zealand, Radhakrishnan is the first person of Indian origin to serve as a minister.
Additionally, he will interact with members of Parliament, business leaders, and the Indian diaspora, including students.
Jaishankar will inaugurate the new building of the Indian High Commission in Wellington.
The External Affairs Minister will visit Canberra and Sydney in Australia.
Jaishankar will hold the 13th Foreign Ministers' Framework Dialogue with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
In addition to meeting Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles, he will also interact with the Australian Navy, media and think tanks, including the Lowy Institute in Sydney.
It will be Jaishankar's second visit to Australia this year.
In February, he attended the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of the QUAD in Melbourne.
