Period paid simulators are electronic devices that recreate pain levels experienced by women during their monthly menstrual cycle.
They're called Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machines that are designed to relieve pain. But when turned up a notch, they can create intense, debilitating discomfort for whosoever is using it.

The social experiment was part of the Cup of Life campaign, an initiative by Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden to promote menstrual hygiene.
“I am going to. I did once. It’s not painful. It’s painful in a very irritating way,” the MP is heard saying.
The reactions have not been shared on Instagram by Cup of Life in collaboration with digital storyteller Agrim Prakash.
The video was captioned: “I once read somewhere that in American Sign Language, the sign for having your period is basically punching yourself in the face… I was today years old when I found out what this joke meant”.
According to an Indian Express report, a similar event was organised at Utopia Dystopia, an art, design and tech festival in Kochi in July this year.
Hibu Eden has plans of distributing free menstrual cups to more than one lakh people in his constituency within just 24 hours. The initiative, which is part of the Cup of Life campaign, will set a world record if completed successfully. It will be organised on August 30 and 31.
