Maharashtra: Man accused of killing former municipal leader found murdered

In a shocking incident, a man who was accused of the murder of a former municipal council leader has been killed by three men in the Yavatmal district. The victim was initially attacked with a sickle and was later shot in the eye with a firearm. He also received a deep cut on his neck after which he died.

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a man who was accused of the murder of a former municipal council leader has been killed by three men in the Yavatmal district. The victim was identified as Sandeep Tote (40) and died on the spot after the attack, as reported by the Indian Express.
According to police sources, the victim was initially attacked with a sickle and was later shot in the eye with a firearm. He also received a deep cut on his neck after which he died. The incident took place near a bus stand in Darwha, reported the Indian Express.
Darwha police have said that Tote was among the five people arrested for allegedly murdering Subhash Dudhe, a former speaker and deputy president in the municipal council. After Dudhe (50) was stoned to death in October 2018, his supporters pelted stones at Tote’s house.
“Tote came out on bail in the murder case two months ago. Three men are involved in the crime. We are searching for them,” said Suresh Maske, inspector in charge of the police station, as reported by the Indian Express.
In another similarly shocking incident, police have arrested three people for killing their fellow worker. The three workers pushed one of their colleagues from the third floor of an under construction building as they were angry that he was paid Rs. 200 more than them by their employer, a contractor.
The three men were identified as V Sakthivel (25) B Prasanth (25) and C Srinivasan (26) were arrested by the police and produced before a court before being sent to jail.
According to the police the incident happened on Saturday night when the victim identified as Anandan (23) a native of Tiruvannamalai, and the others who were working in constructing a residential building on 10th Street, Dhandeeshwaram Nagar, Velachery held a party after work in another under construction building on the same street and under the same contractor. They invited Anandan to the party and all of them even consumed alcohol. During the course of the party the three men pushed Anandan from the third floor of the building to his death, Times of India reported.
