Madhya Pradesh horror: 9-year-old girl raped, murdered with a heavy stone by her uncle in Gwalior

Bhopal: A gut-wrenching incident of a 9-year-old child being raped and murdered was reported from Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior. The child had been missing for two days and while the police and her family were frantically trying to find her, the worst fears came true when her corpse was found near railway tracks.

The body of the child was sans clothes and there was a big stone lying nearby with blood stains on it. This led the investigators to assess that the child was first raped and then murdered using the heavy stone. The girl had been missing since 1 PM two days ago when she was playing with her brother and other kids from the locality. According to a report in Bhaskar, the body of the child has been sent for post mortem.

CCTV footage from the area showed the girl walking with a relative for the last time. When the victim's brother returned home, the parents asked him about the whereabouts of the girl to which he replied that their uncle had taken her with him to get her ice cream. When the relative returned home, he told the family that she had left him after taking ice cream and chocolate. The family then rushed to the police station and registered a complaint.

The uncle is the prime accused in the case now as he has been missing ever since the body of the child was found and police have launched a manhunt to nab him. Accordingly, after the post mortem report, the relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code will be added against him including POCSO.
