After losing the first match of the three-match T20I series vs Australia, India made a strong comeback in the second game at Nagpur. In the eight-over-a-side match, which was curtailed due to a wet outfield, India won the toss and put Australia to bat. The visitors scored 90 runs, courtesy of a 43-run knock from in-form wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade.
In reply, India chased down the target, with six wickets in hand. The wrecker in chief was captain Rohit Sharma who scored a 46-run knock to put India over the line. However, another batsman who played a very short but extremely impactful knock was Dinesh Karthik.

After the game, Dinesh Karthik had a quick chat about his innings with former head coach Ravi Shastri, who is now part of the official broadcaster's team for Star Sports. Shastri began the conversation by stating the fact, that it is quite an easy job for Karthik to finish the innings now.
“The finisher is with us. Easy game, DK. Two balls, a piece of cake. Six, Four, Thank You very much!" Shastri told Karthik at the start of their conversation.
However, Karthik said that it is never an easy game, as he reminded Ravi Shastri of his own words that he had said to him during their time at the India camp. “You are the one who taught me to say, ‘it’s never an easy game’, Ravi bhai! Don’t go back on that, please. It’s a hard game, you know how it is!" Karthik replied.
