Have you wondered why Vision is not there in Doctor Strange 2? The answer lies in MCU Phase 2

Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness features Benedict Cumberbatch's Strange and Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. However, the film conspicuously does not have Paul Bettany's Vision. Have you ever wondered why the actor is absent? Well it seems thatt MCU had already given the answer in Phase 2.

Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been a cinematic spectacle starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular hero on a quest across multiple universes in an attempt at saving America Chavez. The person who he is trying to save America from is none other than Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda aka Scarlet Witch.
But have you even wondered that why does the entire film go without even mentioning Wanda's husband Vision? Wanda's primary objective, it seems is to be re-united with her two sons that she had conjured, using her mind during the events of WandaVision. However, even when looking at the other realities, she can see her twin boys but never Vision.
For the unversed, Paul Bettany graduated from being the voice of the AI superhero Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, before having a major role in WandaVision. Thus, it came as a but of surprise when he is entirely missing from Doctor Strange 2.

Based on Wanda and Vision's past relationship as well as White Vision's existence in the MCU, it seems strange that Wanda, so attuned to finding her sons does not even spare a though for her husband. But turns out there is a clear explanation why Vision is not with Wanda in Earth 838 during Strange's multidimensional travel.
Spoiler alert! A large part of Dr Strange's time in Earth 838 is spent in the Illuminati headquarters, which also, incidentally include good versions of the Ultron bots.
Their inclusion actually does a whole lot in explaining why Vision is missing in Doctor Strange 2. Well, if the powerful AI doesn't turn evil like he did in Avengers: Age of Ultron during Phase 2, then Vision was never created in the Earth-838 reality.
In Phase 2 Vision's MCU origin was actually tied to Ultron's plan for global domination. Ultron wanted to reach a higher form of existence, which became the ultimate foundation for Vision. But with the Ultron bots in Earth 838, it seems that the transgression never happened.
