If there's one Indian film that fans are waiting for with bated breath, then it has to be Ponniyin Selvan: I. Helmed by Mani Ratnam, the film co-stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishnan among others. The duo got along like a house on fire on the sets of the film and that's something that they got scolded for as well.
In a recent interview, Trisha opened up about her experience of working with Aishwarya. She revealed that she got to meet and interact with her on the first day of the shoot itself. Heaping praise on Aishwarya, Trisha said that she is beautiful inside and out. She also revealed what director Mani Ratnam kept telling them throughout the film's shooting.
"The thing is, this was challenging because we are not supposed to like each other too much in this film, but we got along pretty famously on set. There were times when Mani sir would come and say, 'listen, you guys are taking too much, stop talking, I can't have this camaraderie for my scene’,” she told NDTV.
In addition, Trisha lauded Aishwarya for her fluency in Tamil language. The actress also said that anyone who has worked with the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress would agree that she is one of the most hardworking actors. "She will get up at 2 am and get ready with us. I am very honoured that I could share screen space with her," she further said.
The film, originally in Tamil, will also release in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam. The film is slated to release on September 30. The historical drama is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name. Apart from Aishwarya and Trisha, the film also stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala in lead roles.
