People often consider becoming a forest ranger or a wildlife officer as an occupation for the sheer thrill it comes with. Imagine coming face to face with some of the most majestic wild animals and being paid for it.
Well, IFS officer Akash Deep Badhawan just lived the dream. The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) posted at Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh, shared a photo on Twitter showing a leopard taking a stroll outside and compared it to a tale straight out of beloved author Ruskin Bond’s novels.
The IFS officer wrote, “Like a Ruskin Bond story, met this one outside a Forest Rest House and we spent a good amount of time in each other’s company last night. So much wildlife history in the walls of these 120 plus years old FRH of Katarniaghat.”
Shared on Wednesday, May 11, the rear view of the formidable big cat walking on a driveway has captured the internet’s fascination as people online shared some interesting reactions.
“Want to live in this house and go for a post dinner walk,” wrote one user while another one hysterically replied, “You might end up being dinner in that case.
Ruskin Bond, 87, is a household name in India and has produced some of the most captivating literary works which are loved by readers of all ages. They are typically set in a pre-partition India and feature animal characters. His debut novel, The Room on the Roof won him John Llewellyn Rhys Prize in 1957 and in 2014, the author was conferred Padma Bhushan.
