New Delhi: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday rained down on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for 'brushing aside the interest of the Telangana residents to benefit their own families.' "In the struggle for Telangana, BJP played a key role. Some people have conspired to make everyone forget about this. Some are brushing aside the interest of the Telangana residents to benefit their own families. KCR, get off the throne," Shekhawat said.
While announcing that the BJP has now become the biggest political party in the world, Shekhawat stressed that the party has taken a pledge to end dynasty politics in the country. "Thanks to your blessings, BJP has become the biggest political party in the world. We've taken a pledge to end dynasty in politics, to have no tolerance for corruption, and to give precedence to the interest of the nation," he added.
Last week, BJP IT Cell head, Amit Malviya said that the Telangana government was elected to serve the people but it had transformed into a monarchy while reacting to a show cause notice issued to three officials for not attending CM KCR's son KTR's birthday bash. "Govt of Telangana has issued a memo to employees asking them to explain why they didn’t attend Prince KTR’s birthday bash on 24th Jul. Last we knew, Telangana still had a government that was elected to serve people or has it transformed into a monarchy, fiefdom of KCR family?" the BJP leader wrote in a tweet.
Last month Union Minister Piyush Goel last month slammed the Telangana government of KCR for 'not distributing the additional rations of 5 kgs since April'. Goel noted the Centre wrote several letters and spoke with the state government but it did not dispense them. "They have taken away the rights of the poor. It is a failed government in the state of Telangana," the minister said.
