10-day Pune Festival: 34th Pune Fest to be inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis on September 2

Pune: On Friday, September 2, Nitin Gadkari, the minister of roads and highways, and Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, will inaugurate the 34th Pune Festival at Ganesh Kala Krida Ragmanch in Pune.
The 34th annual Pune Festival is a fusion of music, dancing, theatre, art, singing, instruments, sports, and culture.
The Pune Celebration Committee, the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, and the Department of Tourism collaborate to organise this 10-day festival, which takes place during Ganesh Mahotsavis. Entry is open to everyone.
The festival's highlights include the All-India Mushaira, Hema Malini's "Ganga" ballet, Ashok Hande's special performance "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- Azadi 75," Rahul Deshpande's concert, and the "Miss Pune Festival" competition.
At the opening ceremony, actress and dancer Hema Malini will perform the Ganesh Vandana.
Rahul Bajaj, who received the Padma Bhushan award and was involved with the festival from the beginning, was honoured this year, according to Krushna Kumar Goyal, vice president of the festival, who made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday.
There will be a wide range of events during the Pune Festival this year. Honoring the Bharat Ratna Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch will host performances by Lata Mangeshkar, Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Padma Vibhushan Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, veteran actor Padma Vibhushan Dilip Kumar, and Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare.
The senior Adv SK Jain, senior director Padma Bhushan Sai Paranjape, NAAC Chairman Bhushan Patwardhan, renowned classical singer Rahul Deshpande, and director Praveen Tarde will receive the Pune Festival award this year, along with senior educationist and founder of Symbiosis, Padma Bhushan SB Mujumdar.
Suresh Kalmadi, then-Chairman of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, founded the Pune Festival in 1989 after drawing inspiration from Lokmanya Tilak's Ganeshotsav.
