New Delhi: Congress on Friday staged a massive nationwide protests against the policies of Narendra Modi-led central government. Senior Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra were detained during the protests and later released.

1. Congress leaders across the cities staged massive protests against the central government over price rise and unemployment. Protests were staged in many state capitals and cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bhopal, Patna, Chandigarh and Jammu.
2.In the national capital, police had imposed Section 144 but Congress workers defied the restrictions forcing the personnel to detain them.
3.The police detained many top Congress leaders and MPs like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot, and Harish Rawat and later released them.
4. Congress leader Sachin Pilot alleged that party leaders and workers were detained in an 'undemocratic way.'
