Former LS Secretory General PDT Acharya On The 'Maha' Potboiler | India Development Debate

The Maharashtra political crisis has now reached the Supreme Court even as rebel Shiv Sena MLAs continue to camp in Guwahati. In a breather for the rebel Eknath Shinde camp, the top court put the disqualification proceedings against 16 rebel MLAs on hold till 11th July, when the next hearing is also scheduled to take place. The apex court asked Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's camp to reply to petition of the rebel MLAs who challenged the deputy speaker's competence to issue disqualification notice of MLAs even when the rebels had moved a motion seeking his removal. The court also directed Maharashtra Deputy Speaker and the legislative office to file a comprehensive affidavit on whether the notice of motion for removing the deputy speaker was received and why it was rejected. We break down the legal drama and its implications on the India Development Debate with PDT Achary, former Secretary General, Lok Sabha.
