EV manufacturer, Automobile has passed the ARAI certification for their new and India’s 1st high-speed electric cafe racer - the AtumVader. The brand’s latest electric bike will be sold alongside the low-speed Atum 1.0 and will hit the roads by the end of this year.
The high-speed electric cafe racer will be powered by a 2.4 kWh battery pack that is good for 100 km of range on a full charge. Its top speed is capped at 65 km/h, and with no clutch and leg break, the AtumVader is touted to be a simple motorcycle to ride, the specificities of which will further compel new-age riders.
The Hyderabad-based EV manufacturer also claims that “90% of the AtumVader is made from indigenously sourced components” and it is positioned as “the answer to automatic transmissions in motorbikes.” Although, most electric bikes have automatic transmissions, devoid of any gearboxes.
“Indian EV sector is experiencing an electrifying revolution. With the increasing demand for sustainable living and durable vehicles, we always keep our customers’ safety and cost-effective pricing in mind. While keeping the electric bike’s safety features in mind, AtumVade rhas specially curated safety switches and high-end tires for off-road use as well. We were able to design the latest version suitable for Indian roads with the assistance of our R&D experts and indigenous solar-powered zero-emission facilities. Given the stressful nature of traffic in India, AtumVader will be a breeze to ride on. We have already received positive feedback following the distribution of the first low-speed version, Atum 1.0, to over 1000 customers. With this latest version called AtumVader, we hope to see a growth trajectory in our EV business,” said, Mr. Vamsi G Krishna, MD of Atumobile.
The AtumVader electric bike will be manufactured at the company’s Net Zero Manufacturing facility in Patancheru, Telangana. The company recently increased the facilities production capacity from 25,000 units per annum to 3,00,000 units per annum. The facility is powered by ATUM, the world’s first electricity-generating solar roof that spans an area of 20,000 sq.ft total.
