Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has received critical acclaim and commercial success. In three weeks since its release, the film has entered the Rs 200 crore club. While Anupam Kher, the film's lead actor, recently talked about The Kashmir Files reaching the milestone, the director was asked about the Rs 200 crore mark just recently.
Vivek was photographed out and about in Mumbai on Wednesday. The filmmaker was all smiles as the paparazzi spotted him. After posing for the paps, Vivek got into his car and chatted with the photographers for a bit. During the conversation, a photographer congratulated him for The Kashmir Files crossing Rs 200 crore mark at the box-office. To this, Vivek smiled and said that it's not about the money, but about the fact that the film is connecting people.
"Paise ki baat nahi hai logo ke dil jod rahi hai ye achi baat hai. Hai na, aur kya chaiye? Sab judd rahe hai," he told the paparazzi. [Translation: It's not about the money, the good thing is that the film is connecting people. What more does one want? Everyone is connecting.]
Previously, the film's lead actor, Anupam Kher had talked about the film's massive success at the box-office. In an interview with Times Now, Kher recalled that he used to think what he would do if and when his film crosses Rs 200 crore collection at the box office. "Itni kamyabi toh meri kisi film ko nahi mili hai, especially where I am doing the lead role. Toh mixed feeling hai. I should be jumping, I should be celebrating, I should be very happy and I am very happy and thankful to god, but also there's a sense of sadness because the film is not about celebration. The film is about pain, tears, sadness and loss of sense of belonging," he had said, adding that he used to think he would go crazy and run on streets if his film earns over Rs 200 crore.
