Meerut (UP): Three people were arrested after police recovered the body of an LLB student from a drain in Sadiq Nagar on July 2 night. The corpse was wrapped in a sack. The 22-year-old man has been identified as Yash Rastogi. The deceased has been missing since June 26.
SP City, Vineet Bhatnagar said that three youths, identified as Alishan, Salim and Shavez, have been detained in this case, India Today reported. The accused during interrogation confessed to having an unnatural relationship with the deceased Yash.
According to the victim's family, Yash left the house on his scooty around 4 pm on June 26 but did not return. The family informed the police, following which the search operation began. Later, the Police traced Yash's mobile location and based on that the three accused were held.
When the police further interrogated the three accused, it came to light that Yash had allegedly made a video of these boys, allegedly associated with a gay app, and was continuously blackmailing them for money, said police.
Shavez called Yash to the Lisadi Gate area where he allegedly killed Yash with the help of Alishan after a heated argument broke out. Later, in a bid to destroy evidence, the accused disposed of his body with Salim's help in a drain after wrapping it in a sack.
A case has been registered under Section 364 of the IPC. “The exact cause of death will be clear after the post-mortem examination,” the SP said.
