A dog breeder was stunned when his French bulldog gave birth to a bright green puppy.
Mark Ruffin, from Alabama, was "blown away" after the doggo gave birth to two puppies early in his home.
The bulldog, named Freya, was meant to be given a C-section but managed to deliver her two babies on her own.
Freya also had another puppy who sadly died after giving birth.
Mark rushed the canine to the vet hospital where she delivered more puppies, leaving with a litter of eight.
Mark initially thought that the green puppy needed cleaning. However, as days passed by, he noticed that the colour of the puppy's green fur remained strong.
"When I first saw the dog I thought it was dirty because that's what the doctor said, she didn't even know what it was. I got home and cleaned it about four times that night and I let the mother clean it and it never went away," Mark was quoted as saying by Mirror.
He said that the "whole situation was strange".
The breeder is planning to name the green puppy Chloe.
The rare colour of the puppy is thought to happen when light-shaded puppies come into contact with biliverdin - a green pigment detected in bile.
