Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday landed in Abu Dhabi for a one-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He made the brief stopover concluding his visit to Germany where he attended the G7 Summit and interacted with the Indian diaspora.
In a special gesture, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE received PM Modi on his arrival and also saw him off at the airport later in the day.

  • After his arrival in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a meeting. This was the first in-person meeting between the two leaders since August 2019 when the Prime Minister visited Abu Dhabi. “PM (Modi) made a brief stopover at Abu Dhabi on his return from Munich today. He called on President of UAE & Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This was the first in-person meeting b/w the two leaders since August 2019 when Prime Minister visited Abu Dhabi last," a Ministry of External Affairs statement said.
  • “I am touched by the special gesture of my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, of coming to welcome me at Abu Dhabi airport. My gratitude to him,” said PM Modi in a tweet while thanking the UAE President who arrived to receive the PM at the airport in Abu Dhabi.
