Bengaluru: A 31-year-old doctor died after he allegedly fell from his 11th floor apartment at Kempapura near Hebbal in Karnataka capital Bengaluru on Wednesday. The incident took place at Godrej Woodsman Estate housing society.
The deceased doctor has been identified as Dr S Pruthvikanth, who was pursuing his final year super speciality course. The doctor was a native of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh.
Pruthvikanth was pursuing final year DM (Doctorate of Medicine) neurology from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, according to a report in Times of India.
The deceased doctor got married to a pediatrician three months ago. The couple moved to a flat in Bengaluru last month.
Police claimed the doctor committed suicide and left a suicide note on his mobile phone. According to police, the doctor cited health reasons for taking the extreme step.
Police said Pruthvikanth came to the balcony, kept his there and took a plunge while his wife was sleeping in the room.
The matter came to light after the security staff heard a loud thud and rushed to the spot. The staff immediately informed the police and his wife.
Citing alleged suicide note, police said the doctor was suffering from cardiac issues and was unable to cope with it.
According to police, the doctor also wrote in his suicide note that he doesn't want to "spoil the future of his wife" and asked her to find a healthy partner in the future. Cops said the doctor did not forward the suicide note to anyone and saved it on his phone itself.
