Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, on Tuesday, refuted reports that he spoke to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in order to save the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. In a statement, Shiv Sena said that the reports claming that such a conversation took place between Thackeray and Fadnavis are 'misleading'.
"Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray called Devendra Fadnavis to save the government some such news is going on but this news is only to mislead. Whatever, Uddhav Thackeray has to say, he speaks publicly," Shiv Sena spokesperson Harshal Pradhan said in a statement.
According to a report by news agency ANI, Uddhav Thackeray was ready to resign on June 22 after the political crisis in the state worsened. It was, however, reported that the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) convinced Thackeray to not resign. Meanwhile, the BJP has clarified that it will 'wait and watch' the current political situation in Maharashtra, even as reports claimed that talks were underway between the Eknath Shinde camp and the BJP to consider forming a government in the state.
"We had clarified yesterday as well that we will hold another core team meeting in the days to come, keeping in mind its necessity - if any. We will deliberate and make a decision. Right now we are in a wait-and-watch mode," Sudhir Mungantiwar, BJP leader said.

"Rebel Maharashtra MLAs likely to stay for more days at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati, Assam. The hotel was booked till July 5 and the booking can now be extended as per requirement," sources told the agency.
