The teaser of Prabhas starrer Adipurush has become a hot topic of discussion as netizens are calling out the makers for its VFX. Expectations were sky-high from Om Raut’s big-screen adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana, particularly after the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra.
With comparisons being drawn between Brahmastra and Adipurush, Namit Malhotra, the head-honcho of Prime Focus, the company which worked on the Astraverse film's VFX, opened up about the audience’s reaction to the Ayan Mukerji directorial.
“No matter how confident a filmmaker is about their work, ultimately it boils down to what the audience feels. The audiences are the judge of what will work and what is not going to work. The fact that our effort has been applauded and is getting even more praise only makes me thankful that we were able to get there,” Namit told Hindustan Times.
He further mentioned that every filmmaker tries to do their best and it is up to the audience to decide the fate of a film. “So for us, it’s not arrogance but relief that the audience likes it,” he said.
Talking about the Astraverse film, Namit further added, “Even for Brahmastra, we got criticism also apart from praise, which is fair. We thought some of those things were pretty good but the audiences didn’t appreciate. Judgment is always subjective in these matters. We will take all this into consideration moving forward. It would be foolhardy for us to get clear feedback and not make sure that do not deliver better in the next part.”
Brahmastra, which released on September 9, has been having a stellar run at the ticket windows as it has grossed over Rs 400 crore globally.
Speaking of Adipurush, the pan-India film is slated to release worldwide on January 12, 2023, in multiple languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
