Popular actress Nupur Alankar left the TV industry earlier this year and took sanyas (renunciation of worldly pleasures). Back then, she had said that her husband Alankar Srivastava has 'freed her' from their marriage. Now, a report has stated that the duo stopped being man and wife three years ago.

A source has shared that the spark between Nupur and her husband had almost disappeared, adding that there was no physical attraction for each other, howsoever hard they tried.

ETimes has also reported that Nupur and Alankar stopped being a couple nearly three years ago. The publication has also stated that they were living separately since two-and-half years.

Earlier, Nupur had opened up about her decision of taking sanyas in an interaction with the same publication. Talking about people's reaction, she had said, "I don't know why people think I am emotionally devastated and tired of life to take this decision." She also went on to say that it was the COVID-19 lockdown that helped her to 'become detached'.

Further, when she was asked if she will miss being in front of the camera, she had said, "I am done with all the pretence and falsity that we resort to on screen and off it." Nupur had also shared that she has rented out her Mumbai flat before leaving the city to fund her travel expenses to the pilgrimage sites.

Nupur was a part of the industry for a long time before she decided to quit. She appeared in almost 157 TV serials throughout her 27-year-long career. She was a part of popular shows like Shaktimaan, Tantra and Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, and others. Not just this but Nupur also worked in films like Saawariya and Sonali Cable.
