Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is popularly known as Sam, is one of the most loved actresses in the Indian film industry, and we couldn't help ourselves but join the fan club. She is a brilliant actress and always amazed us with her both on-screen and off-screen presence.
Being an avid social media user, when the actress disappeared from the social media platform for more than 40 days, reports have been rife that the reason behind Samantha's absence is due to her suffering from a rare skin disorder. However, her manager has addressed this all as "gossip."
But, she made a comeback with some exciting pieces of news.
As everyone was wondering about Samantha's new projects, the diva took to Instagram and dropped teasers and posters of her upcoming films. After sharing the poster of Yashoda, the Theri actress unveiled the motion poster of the mythological love saga Shaakuntalam along with a release date today (September 23).
The announcement posters star Samantha and Dushyanta in the lead roles as they will be essaying Shakuntala and Dev Mohan. The makers of the film also unveiled the poster along with a caption that reads, "Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in Theatres from Nov 4th 2022 Worldwide!"

Directed by Gunasekar, the film has been inspired by Kalidasa's popular play Shaakuntalam, and apart from the lead roles, Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla also play important roles in the film.
However, a while ago, when Samantha finished wrapping up for the movie, she took to her gram and penned down a heartwarming note, "This film will stay with me for the rest of my life. As a little girl I believed in fairy tales.. not much has changed. I still do…. and @gunasekhar1 sir my fairy godfather making my dream a reality. When he narrated this film to me I was immediately transported to a most beautiful world.. the world of Shaakuntalam.. a world like no other."
The movie will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on November 4.
