The DU Admissions policies contained guidelines regarding the admissions process for the academic session 2022-23, the guidelines for CUET 2022, board results, quotas and minority colleges admissions.
All of these guidelines have been explained below for students looking to seek admission into Delhi University for the academic session of 2022-23. CUET 2022 will be mandatory for admissions all across DU for all courses except for admissions into DU’s School of Open Learning, SOL and National Collegiate Women's Education Board, NCWEB.
"It is mandatory for all candidates to appear in CUET-2022, including those seeking admission to supernumerary seats. The eligibility criteria will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in CUET," stated DU VC Yogesh Singh.
CUET 2022 to be mandatory for merit-based admissions
The students will be able to appear for CUET 2022 only in those subjects which they have selected and studied in Class 12. As per Haneet Gandhi, the Dean of Admissions, DU, the merit of the students for DU Admissions 2022 will be calculated on the basis of combination of only those subjects in which the candidate has appeared for the CUET entrance exam.
Candidates will be attempting three sections in CUET. It has been made mandatory for the student to appear in at least one language for the entrance exam for DU Admissions. The first and second sections will be crucial for the students.
The third section, which will be based on general knowledge, will only be for admissions to BA Programme Courses. Students who wish to switch their streams will not be placed at a disadvantage as students can appear for a maximum of six subjects in CUET.
Students must appear for one language in section 1 and at least 3 domain subjects in section 2. Candidates must select their subjects appropriately and in accordance with the course they wish to take admission in. Some key highlights are -
  1. B.Sc Courses - Marks would be calculated on the basis of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology. Apart from this, students must secure at least 30 per cent marks in one language for CUET.
  2. B.A Courses - Students will appear for any one language for section 1 and three subjects based on their domain in section 2.
  3. BA (Hons) Economics - It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in Mathematics in CUET 2022. Students will be appearing for one language, Math, and two subjects of their choice.
  4. BBA, BMS, BBE Courses - Any one language, Mathematics, and Section 3 of General Knowledge.
  5. BA Programme, BCom Programme and B.Voc (Pass Courses) - Students will have a choice of one language and one domain subject and a general three subject text.
  6. Linguistic programmes - Candidates can choose a particular language or take a test in any other language. But preference will be given to those appearing in the particular language of the course.
Minority Colleges admissions
In 50 per cent seats reserved for minority colleges, the eligibility criteria will be divided into 85 per cent of CUET marks and the remaining 15 per cent will be decided by colleges themselves. This remaining 15 per cent is expected to be based on the board results of the students, colleges will issue clarification once the DU admission process for 2022-23 is underway.
Admissions to non-reserved 50 per cent seats will be purely on the basis of CUET. Minority colleges like Jesus and Mary, St Stephen's and Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa have 50 per cent seats reserved for minority communities.
Sports and ECA admissions
For admission through the Sports and ECA quotas, the candidates will have to appear for the performance-based test along with CUET 2022. Eligibility for this will be decided based on the combined score of CUET and performance-based test.
DU SOL and NCWEB Admissions
The admission process for DU School of Open Learning, SOL and the Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board based colleges will be done on the basis of merit. The registration process for this will start from May 6, 2022.
